Episode 7: Tavern Tale is the eighth special episode for Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Zacharias Barnham visits the tavern and reminiscences about how he first met Constantine.

Unlike the chapters in the main game and the episodes in the main Ace Attorney and Professor Layton series, this special episode features next to no gameplay (aside from one puzzle). Unlike most of the other special episodes, this one features no fourth wall humor and features a rather serious story.

References to other episodes

The comedic incident mentioned in special episode 6, in which Barnham apparently got pulled around town by his horse, is used as a 'plot point', and is given a serious turn in that it turns out this incident resulted in Barnham unintentionally stapling Constantine's mother to death.
