Teddy is a polar bear cub who was the prison pet of inmate Rocco Carcerato assigned as part of the prison's animal therapy program. Teddy was almost always seen grabbing onto the front of the prisoner's vest, which Carcerato didn't mind as the bear acted as an additional weight when he was doing his boxing training. There was a deep bond between the two, although Carcerato became annoyed at Teddy when the latter's following of him ruined his plan to escape from the prison.
Foiling a prison escape[]
In March 2019, during a show performed by the Berry Big Circus, Carcerato left Teddy in the care of Frank Sahwit, intending on escaping prison. However, while Sahwit was applying mud packs to Teddy, the bear escaped to search for his owner. In chasing after the bear, Sahwit witnessed Helmut, Bodhidharma Kanis's dog, apparently killing Bronco Knight. Meanwhile, Teddy caught up to Carcerato and leaped onto him; this incident was caught on a security camera, and was later initially mistaken for Helmut attacking Knight.
During the investigation into Knight's murder, Carcerato once again attempted to escape, this time by stealing a prison guard uniform and disguising himself. However, after Teddy ran into the room and jumped onto him once again, his cover was quickly blown.
Personality[]
Teddy adores Carcerato, and so was frequently seen latched onto the front of his torso. His emotional attachment to Carcerato was such that his two instances of foiling the prisoner's escape attempts could be seen as deliberate.
