The Themis Legal Academy is a school for teaching students to become lawyers, prosecutors and judges.

Background

Themis Legal Academy was built to be a high school for students who wished to become a defense attorney, prosecutor or judge. However, if a student has been arrested in the past, they cannot graduate.

Currently, lawyer students wear blue, prosecutor students wear red, and judge students wear black. However, in the past, prosecutor's wore blue instead.

Corruption

Eventually, the prestigious academy started to lose its way, and its morals. Teacher began to take bribes from parents so that their child could pass. Two students whom have passed in this fashion are Yumihiko Ichiyanagi and Hugh O’Conner.

Later on, Themis split between two different ideologys, Aristotle Means's "the end justifies the means" theory, and Constance Courte's theory, in which she started that the truth is more important than the results. This caused a rift between the students, and each side had their followers.

Name

• "Themis" is an ancient Greek goddess who is the embodiment of divine order, law, and custom, with her name literally meaning "that which is put in place". The Roman equivalent of one aspect of Themis is the perhaps more familiar Justitia, or Lady Justice.

Trivia

• Athena Cykes's DLC outfit is the same as the uniform for female students taking the defense attorney course, and red for the prosecutor course.

• Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth's clothes' colors match as that of the uniform colors for the defense attorney course and prosecutor course; Phoenix wears a blue suit, like the defense attorney course, while Edgeworth wears a red suit, like the uniform for the prosecutor course.
• Yumihiko Ichiyanagi wore a blue Themis uniform in Gyakuten Kenji 2. It was confirmed that he indeed was a student at Themis Legal Academy and during his tenure there, prosecutor cadets wore blue instead of red.
