While passing through the tunnel made by Rocco Carcerato, Teddy had left the footprints behind in the tunnel.

Kay Faraday took the photos while passing through the tunnel. She gave them to Edgeworth, who then used it to prove that it was possible for Helmut to move between the detention center and the prison.
