"Turnabout Beginnings - 1st Trial" is the 39th episode of the Ace Attorney anime and the fifteenth episode of its second season. It is the first of two episodes that adapt the story of Turnabout Beginnings, originally from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations.

Differences from the game[]
- The case takes place in March instead of February.
- Fey occasionally acts more flustered around Armando than she does in the game.
- Armando does not address Fey as "Kitten".
- The judge doesn't exhibit any Canadian accent or verbal tics as he does in the game.
- Gumshoe does not comment on Fey's attractiveness before his testimony.
- In the trunk of Fawles' car, Valerie lies on her side instead of her back, causing the knife in her back to be visible.
- Dahlia does not faint in the middle of the trial.
- Armando learns about Dahlia Hawthorne's identity from a case file instead of from Fawles. In addition, he learns about it in the middle of the trial instead of during a mid-trial recess.
