"Turnabout Beginnings - Last Trial" is the 40th episode of the Ace Attorney anime and the sixteenth episode of its second season. It is the last of two episodes that adapt the story of Turnabout Beginnings, originally from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations.

Differences from the game[]
- Edgeworth does not confirm Dahlia's identity before Fawles takes the witness stand.
- Fawles reveals the fake kidnapping plot in the courtroom instead of in the defendant lobby.
- In the game, Dahlia says Fawles was her tutor when she was 14. In the anime, it is mentioned that Fawles tutored both Dahlia and Valerie.
- In the game, Fawles remains standing until the moment he dies. In the anime, he collapses after revealing he drank the poison and dies in Fey's arms.
- In the game, Armando crushes his coffee mug at the defense bench immediately after the trial ends. In the anime, he crushes the mug in the middle of the courtroom some time after the trial ends (as the sun is setting).
