The Ultimate Cookbook, or the "Angel's Cookbook" by its proper title, was a piece of evidence in Gregory and Miles Edgeworth's respective investigations into the murder of Artie Frost. A "recipe book" filled with procedures for developing experimental drugs not yet available to the general public, it includes both curative medicines and deadly poisons in its contents.
Background[]
Developed by the Tangaroa Group, the book was inherited by Samson Tangaroa after the death of his parents. Tangaroa, having dedicated his life to cooking rather than drug development, intended to offer it as the grand prize for his Great Dessert Contest. Following Tangaroa's arrest for the murder of Artie Frost, the Tangaroa Group confiscated the recipe book, but it was eventually reclaimed by Tangaroa's adoptive daughter, Judy Bound, 18 years later.
Although the book itself was worth a fortune at the time of the Great Dessert Contest, most of the recipes within were released commercially to the public in the following years, thereby greatly reducing its value.
Contents[]
The Ultimate Cookbook reportedly contained information on cures for taste disorders such as the "dissociated taste disorder" and the worse ageusia, two disorders that result in a loss of the ability to taste correctly. It also contained a description of the Infesticide Ultra insecticide, where it is mentioned that mixing Asphyxion with Ubiquium would produce a toxic gas.
Frost's murder[]

The prospect of winning the Ultimate Cookbook attracted the attention of multiple individuals, most notably Artie Frost, who wished to sell it for a high price, Carmelo Gusto, who wanted it to cure his ageusia, and the Tangaroa Group, who decided to send one of their own, Delicia Scone, to retrieve it. All three entered the contest and successfully made it to the finals. However, unbeknownst to Tangaroa, Gusto and Frost had been cooperating while Scone had been cheating with the help of Judy Bound.
Tangaroa had framed it alongside his chocolate presentation. On the day of the finals, Frost betrayed Gusto and left him to make his dessert alone. Desperate for the cure, Gusto decided to take a photo of the Ultimate Cookbook to obtain the cure for his ageusia. However he was caught by Frost, who threatened to expose Gusto's secret ailment. This resulted in a violent altercation that ended with Gusto killing Frost.
Later, after discovering that Tangaroa had dissociated taste disorder, Gregory Edgeworth received the book from Bound and added it to his court record. The book was later taken by the Tangaroa Group after the apparent resolution of the case, with Tangaroa being falsely convicted.
Gusto's poisoning[]
Almost 20 years after the IS-7 Incident, Bound managed to buy back both the book and Tangaroa's mansion from the Tangaroa Group. By that point, the monetary value of the book had significantly dropped, as most of the recipes for the pharmaceutical products within had been released to the public. Still, after finding Frost's body in one of his sculptures, Bound used the book to learn how to set up a poison gas trap using the substances Ubiquium and Asphyxion. This was done in order to expose the true culprit of the IS-7 Incident and call for a retrial of the case.
After deducing the existence of a link between the IS-7 Incident and the attempted poisoning, Miles Edgeworth received the book from Eddie Fender alongside other IS-7 evidence.
