A used blowtorch was a piece of evidence in Miles Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Artie Frost.

Carmelo Gusto's poisoning[]

Main article: Turnabout Legacy

Prior to his poisoning, Carmelo Gusto, who had heard about the opening of the Zodiac Hall, decided to enter early. This was due to his murder of Artie Frost 18 years earlier, as he had hidden Frost's body within the Gemini sculpture. Worried that the body would be noticed, he entered the "Winter Wing" before its opening and locked himself in. He then used the blowtorch in order to open the case of what he thought was the Gemini sculpture. However, unbeknownst to him, Judy Bound had set up a trap for him by switching the Autumn and Winter Wings and disguising the Autumn Wing as the Winter Wing. She had also booby-trapped the Pisces sculpture's case and disguised it as the Gemini one, knowing that the killer from the IS-7 Incident would open it to remove the body. Due to this, when Gusto used the blowtorch, the frozen Ubiquium on top melted and mixed with the Asphyxion underneath, creating a toxic gas that spewed out upon Gusto's opening of the lid. He then stumbled out, leaving the blowtorch behind.

Edgeworth received the blowtorch from Dick Gumshoe, who had found it, still warm, in the Autumn Wing. He later used it to show how Gusto opened the glass case.
