Tangaroa's contest entry was a scene of a ship made of chocolate. Carmelo Gusto killed Frost and hid the body inside a chocolate treasure chest that was part of Tangaroa's entry. Later, Judy Bound discovered the body, throwing off Gusto's plans to move the body elsewhere. He hid the bloodstain in the chocolate chest by snapping off the bloodstained portion and throwing it into the warm stream that flowed to the Fountain room.
Later, forensics found traces of blood from the dissolved piece of chocolate. Gregory Edgeworth later deduced that the chocolate and blood in the fountain were from the victim due to his examination of the crime scene. He later used it to show where the blood that disappeared from the crime scene went.
