The victim's blood was a piece of evidence in Gregory Edgeworth's investigation into the murder of Pierre Hoquet, also known as Issac Dover, during the finals of Jeffrey Master's Great Dessert Contest.
Dover's murder[edit | edit source]
Master's contest entry was a scene of a ship made of chocolate. Dane Gustavia killed Dover and hid the body inside a chocolate treasure chest that was part of Master's entry. Later, Katherine Hall discovered the body, throwing off Gustavia's plans to move the body elsewhere. He hid the bloodstain in the chocolate chest by snapping off the bloodstained portion and throwing it into the warm stream that flowed to the fountain patio.
Later, forensics found traces of blood from the dissolved piece of chocolate. Edgeworth later deduced that the chocolate and blood in the fountain were from the victim due to his examination of the crime scene. He later used it to show where the blood that disappeared from the crime scene went.
