This article is about the piece of evidence in Turnabout Beginnings. For other pieces of evidence with the same name, see Victim's Note (disambiguation).

A note written by the victim was a piece of evidence in the trial of Terry Fawles for the murder of Valerie Hawthorne.

The note was a summary of a call made to Valerie by Fawles, who told her to meet up with him at Dusky Bridge and discuss an incident involving them and Valerie's sister Dahlia. As Fawles had forgotten what she looked like, Valerie was to wear a white scarf for identification, but only had a light blue scarf, thinking it was close enough. Valerie also decided to tell Dahlia about the meeting and her intention to let the whole truth about the incident come out. Dahlia murdered Valerie and framed Fawles in order to stop this from happening.

During Fawles's trial, Dick Gumshoe presented the note while testifying about the investigation. Later, a witness going by "Melissa Foster" made an off-handed comment that she was lucky to have not worn a white scarf at the time, referencing the note rather than Valerie's actual scarf. Fawles's lawyer, Mia Fey, caught onto this, and concluded that "Melissa Foster" was actually Dahlia.
