Det. Faith's murder[]

Main article: Turnabout Visitor

Prior to his murder, Detective Faith always carried his revolver around with him. At the time of his murder, he was going to the office of his partner, Jacques Portsman, to drop off three pieces of evidence. However, Portsman was out, so he instead left a note. However, just then, he heard noise coming from Room 1202, whose occupant was away. He entered and found Portsman there. Because Faith had stumbled upon him while he was trying to steal evidence, Portsman knew he couldn't let Faith live. However, at the same time, Faith had relaxed because he was dealing with his own partner. This allowed Portsman to steal the revolver and shoot his own partner. Portsman then left the revolver in the office.

Later, Edgeworth found the revolver on the floor of his office. He eventually used it to deduce that there had been two guns used in his office while he had been away.
