• The original Japanese equivalent "Ichiyanagi" is a play on the Japanese for "first class".
• In the English fan translation of Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit, the surname is changed to "Debeste", which is a play on "the best".
• In the official English translation, the surname was changed to "Winner", a play on the family supposed excellence.
