Shadi Smith's murder[]

After discovering Smith's body, Wright used the phone to call the police. It was later submitted as evidence. Later on, Apollo Justice used it to disprove Orly's claim that she kept her eyes on the defendant, as Wright had left the crime scene entirely to call the police. Orly then broke down and revealed that when it was discovered that her trap failed, Smith became angry at her because of this. He had then taken a bottle and hit her on the neck with it, knocking her unconscious. She also added that she hadn't told of her connection with Smith because she knew she'd be a suspect, however, she swore she didn't murder Smith, claiming that when she awoke Smith was already dead.

After this, Wright pointed out that these further proved the existence of a fourth person in the room, as Orly had been unconscious when the murder occurred. Later on, Wright used it to play his conversation with Kristoph Gavin to the entire court. This caused Justice to notice that Gavin specifically mentioned Smith's bald head in the call, leading him to question when Gavin discovered it, given that Smith and Gavin had never met with Smith's hat off. This caused the judge to decide that they had to hear testimony from Gavin.
